On Thursday 14th August 2025, Barton Lodge Care Home proudly marked a huge milestone – 25 fantastic years of care, community and cherished memories. To celebrate, we hosted a special vintage afternoon tea.
The family-friendly celebration was open to all, bringing together residents, families, neighbours, friends – current and past team members – for an afternoon filled with laughter, nostalgia, and community spirit. With glorious sunshine on our side, more than 130 guests gathered under a marquee in the garden to enjoy a day to remember.
A vintage affair
Our vintage afternoon tea was a real treat: a delicious spread of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with jam and cream, sweet delights, ice lollies and endless cups of tea – all served with timeless charm and flair.
Children were kept busy and smiling with plenty of activities – from face painting and a colouring competition to games, prizes and creative fun. The garden buzzed with the sounds of excitement and laughter as little ones played, while adults enjoyed reconnecting and reminiscing.
Entertainment to remember
Guests were transported back in time thanks to the fantastic live performance from The Land Girls, who brought the spirit of a nostalgic era. Families also enjoyed classic lawn games, testing their skills or simply relaxing in the lively atmosphere with friends and loved ones.
A true community celebration
Head of Operations Strategy & Innovation, Samir, shared:

Care Home Manager, Amanda, added:
“It was a fantastic day with so many people helping us mark this special occasion. We even welcomed families spanning four or five generations, as well as some of our much-loved staff from years gone by!”
