Woodley Grange Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Pink decorations, music and plenty of smiles! Woodley Grange proudly supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.

Supporting a Cause That Brings People Together
October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding of breast cancer and show support for everyone affected. This month started to help people learn more about early detection, prevention, available support and to encourage communities to come together. Every year, millions take part in events to raise awareness and fund vital research and this year, we were proud to take part at Woodley Grange.

A Wonderful Afternoon Organised by Rachael
Our Wellbeing Champion, Rachael, organised a fantastic afternoon that brought everyone together. The home was decorated with pink touches throughout and she made sure that anyone who didn’t have something pink to wear could still join in by providing clothing and accessories. Rachael also arranged breast cancer pin badges, pens and other items for people to buy, helping us raise £43.07 for the cause.

Music, Laughter and Community Spirit
The afternoon was filled with music, laughter and plenty of dancing, enjoyed by both residents and staff. There was plenty of singing, smiles and a lovely sense of togetherness as everyone joined in. It was a wonderful way to mark a national event, show our support, and enjoy some fun and connection within our community.

Thank You to Everyone Involved
Events like these are an important reminder that we can all play a part in raising awareness and supporting those affected by breast cancer. A huge thank you goes to Rachael for all her hard work in making the day so special, and to everyone who joined in to help raise money for such a meaningful cause.
