Barton Lodge’s Wish Maker campaign raises the bar for resident Ron

As part of our extremely popular Wish Maker campaign for residents, Barton Lodge recently granted Ron’s wish to have a special brewery tour at Ringwood Brewery.

Born in Ringwood in September 1939, Ron has always lived and worked in the area and has always wanted to visit his local brewery, which was established in 1978.

On Tuesday 18^th January 2022, we made his wish come true by arranging a private tour of the brewery and a special visit to the onsite pub, where Ron was treated like a VIP by Hanna.

Ron enjoyed looking around the onsite shop and purchased two bottles of his favourite beer, ‘Old Thumper’. At the bar, Hanna gave him a pint of ‘Razor Back’ beer which he thoroughly enjoyed.

As a lovely reminder of the day, Ron was treated to some wonderful souvenirs, including a hoodie and two beer glasses.

Barton Lodge’s Activity Coordinators, Jenny and Barbara said; “The staff at the brewery were incredible, they really went out of their way to make the day truly special for Ron. It was a truly memorable experience which made Ron quite emotional but extremely happy. A day he will always remember! We can’t wait to grant the next wish!”
