A warm welcome back to Christina

At Barton Lodge, our team is at the heart of everything we do – and one of those wonderful people is Christina, our Home Administrator.

Christina joined us 14 months ago, moving from Worcester to Highcliffe during lockdown. The relocation gave her the perfect opportunity to follow her long-held dream of working with the elderly. From day one, she threw herself into life at Barton Lodge, quickly becoming a cherished part of our team and community.

When asked what she loves most about her role, Christina doesn’t hesitate: “We are a big, happy family.”  She adores her colleagues, the residents and even the everyday joy of welcoming families into the home. You’ll often find her greeting visitors with a smile from her office – or joining in a song and a dance with residents Jean, Margaret, and our fabulous hairdresser Selina to “Gene Genie.” Christina and Jean would regularly break into the moves whenever they passed in the corridor, filling the home with laughter.

Unfortunately, Christina has been away for the last three months, bravely recovering from a broken wrist and shoulder. It’s been a challenging time, but she’s faced it with patience and strength. During her recovery, her absence was felt across the home – from the small day-to-day tasks she quietly managed, to the energy and warmth she brought to residents and colleagues alike. Barton Lodge just wasn’t the same without her.

That’s why we’re so delighted to say that Christina is now on the mend and gradually returning to work. While she eases back in a few hours at a time, we’re thrilled to have her laughter, care and positivity back in the home.

Please join us in giving Christina a big, warm Barton Lodge welcome back. Whether it’s catching up over a coffee, sharing a smile, or joining her for a little dance down the corridor, let’s show her just how much she was missed.
