A garden transformation at Woodley Grange

Bright flower planter with lupins and marigolds in the garden at ManuCourt care home.

That’s when a friend of our Care Home Manager kindly stepped in, offering to help in his spare time – and what a difference he has made!

Over the spring and summer months, he worked tirelessly to bring the garden back to life. Bit by bit, he transformed the space into a beautiful retreat that our residents could enjoy during the warmer weather and beyond.

From tired borders to a flourishing garden

The borders were refreshed with ferns and seasonal plants that add vibrancy and life. Residents even helped plant vegetables, which they later picked and enjoyed as part of their dinners – a wonderful way to stay connected with nature.

Our pergola, freshly painted, has become a favourite spot for birthday celebrations and special moments. It’s a charming focal point and a space where laughter and joy can now be shared.

The final step in the transformation was the installation of artificial grass. Not only does it look smart and tidy all year round, but it also makes the garden more accessible for everyone to enjoy safely. With this finishing touch, the garden truly feels complete.

A place to relax, celebrate and connect

The difference has been felt by everyone. Our residents, staff and relatives have shared their thoughts, and their words really capture the spirit of this new space:

“A little bit of paradise, right here at home.” – Rachel (staff)

“The gardens are more alive.” – Hilary (resident)

“The garden now reflects the needs of the residents and is glowing.” – Kath (relative)

“I love sitting and admiring the garden.” – Jenny (resident)

More than just a garden

This transformation has given us more than a beautiful outdoor space – it has provided our residents with a place to relax, enjoy nature, celebrate special occasions and spend time together. The garden is now a true extension of our home, and we couldn’t be happier with how it has blossomed.

We’re so grateful to everyone who played a part in bringing this vision to life, and we look forward to enjoying our little piece of paradise for many seasons to come.
