The Zoo Visits Barton Lodge

Recently at Barton Lodge we have had an “animal handling experience” from Zoolab. Creatures from faraway places came to visit our residents and proved very therapeutic and gave our residents knowledge and sensory stimulation from the animals. Animals included were: a giant African land snail, a giant African millipede, a corn snake, a Peruvian guinea pig and more. All the residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to their next visit planned in July. Pet therapy has been proven to help give people a positive focus, sharper mind, less stress and a better mood.
