Manucourt’s commitment to keeping residents & staff safe

The spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has turned our world upside down.
Our thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected by the situation. COVID-19 is the greatest challenge of our generation, matched only by the challenges faced by many of our residents in wartime.
In those times, humanity rose to the occasion and prevailed. We are overwhelmed by our team’s resolve to face today’s challenges with professionalism, determination, love, empathy and kindness.
At Barton Lodge and Woodley Grange, we are now well versed on how to keep residents and staff safe. But living isn’t simply survival and we all need to laugh and smile. As Tara Brach once said, “the only way to live is by accepting each minute as an unrepeatable miracle”. A quick look at our Facebook pages will show you that there’s certainly been a lot of laughter and games, singing and dancing and a general sense of optimism and fun.
In terms of managing risk at the Homes, we are pleased to report that our staff are tested multiple times a week and the residents, monthly. We have more than enough personal protective equipment and all of our staff are highly trained on infection control procedures. We are still limiting who comes to our Homes and we are risk assessing anyone who sets foot inside. It’s a dynamic situation and of course we have to react to any government guidance, but the ongoing vaccine rollout gives us hope for the future. Indeed, all our residents have received their second dose of the vaccine and we will ensure that all new residents receive the support they need to be vaccinated.
One of the most emotive topics is visitation. We know how important it is for residents and their loved ones to have face to face contact. We are pleased to say that we have various forms of Visiting in place: indoor, in visiting pods and outside.
